My name is Jesse Ebert. Thanks for visiting my blog. I use my blog to record my thoughts on a wide range of topics. Those who know me well, know that to me nothing is more satisfying than studying a topic until you totally understand it forwards and backwards. Truth is I enjoy learning, and this blog records all of it.
On a personal level, I am an Accounting/Finance professional in the Columbus, Ohio area who thoroughly enjoys fun facts. Numbers and statistics fascinate me and, most of the time, keep my active mind occupied. I will try to include as many facts and figures in my post as I can (along with backing references).
I’m committed to continue to grow and develop both as a person and a finance professional. I am most interested in corporate finance, analytics and investments. My long-term goal is to be a Vice President of a Fortune 500 company.
I view economics and politics as a community swimming pool. This hypothetical pool is full of all types of different people doing all sorts of different things; kids splashing each other in the shallow end, teens jumping off the diving board in the deep end, adults swimming laps along the side and old ladies doing water aerobics. Meanwhile the lifeguard sits and watches and tries to keep everyone safe, occasionally diving in to save someone or blow his whistle at someone running. One way or another, each person is effecting the waves. Economics is understanding the effects each person will have on the waves in the pool.
I am an extremely competitive person. I love winning. I put everything I have into everything I do. Because of that I’m not afraid to say that my faith in Jesus Christ drives me.
